University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) Kanpur was founded in 1996. This is a premier engineering institution located in Kanpur. It is an autonomous institute under the administration of Chhatrapati SahuJi Maharaj University, erstwhile known as Kanpur University. It is a self-financed institute. A team of dynamic and dedicated faculty members work relentlessly to impart best education to students of the Institute. Over the years, modern infrastructure has been developed to cater to the latest improvement in the field of engineering.

The institute is set amidst the university campus over 265 acres of land. UIET offers UG engineering courses in Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Metallurgical Engineering. UIET is celebrating 25th years (Silver Jubilee year) of its foundation in 2021.
